**FUN FACTS ABOUT THE HOME** The build process was started in 1944 and finished in 1945 during World War II. Building supplies were often difficult to get so some of the outlets covers are round, the type that were used in barns because they were available. The home was built by the owner of the neighboring farm for him and his wife. She chose the Cape Cod style. All the framing lumber came from trees harvested from this lot and his farm. The logs were taken to Cross's Mill by mules and wagon to be sawed into lumber. Him and his brothers would take a load of logs down and bring back a load of lumber. The basement was dug out with picks, shovels, mules and a scope ( a scope looked like a wheel barrel with no wheels). They would load it than use the mules to pull it out of the hole.
